Difference between GCSEs and IGCSEs

IGCSEs are internationally recognised qualifications whereas GCSEs are primarily for UK based students. There are also differences between course structure and mode of assessments, but this can also vary subject to subject. An example of this is Geography – There may be a coursework element in the GCSE, however coursework is not included in the IGCSE.

This Key Stage covers the following year groups aligned to the UK education system:

  1. Year 10
  2. Year 11

At Key Stage 4 we offer core and optional subjects. The subjects can be taken with the following routes:

  1. GCSE with the Edexcel exam board
  2. International GCSE with the Edexcel exam board

Note: other exam boards may also be considered subject to a feasibility study
