QURAN & ISLAMIC

Quran

At The eAcademy our Quranic programme is compulsory yet not calculated within the tuition fees. The programme will be available to all students within the academy from EYFS to Year 12. However, non-Muslim students can opt out of the programme if they wish to do so.

The programme has been designed in stages rather than based on age or year group. The stages are as follows:

  1.  Beginner 1 – Pronouncing and recognising letters
  2.  Beginner 2 – Reading short words and sentences fluently
  3.  Intermediate 1 – Basic Tajweed and reading Juz Amma (30)
  4.  Intermediate 2 – Advanced Tajweed and memorisation of Juz Amma (30)
  5.  Advanced 1 – Reading Quran and memorisation of Juz Tabarak (29)
  6.  Advanced 2 – Memorisation of Quran

Arabic & Islamic

At The eAcademy our Arabic & Islamic programmes are compulsory yet not calculated in the tuition fees (except at KS4/KS5 if chosen for external exams). The programme will be available to all students within the academy from EYFS to Year 12. However, non-Muslim students can opt out of the programme if they wish to do so. Key Stage 4 and 5 students can choose other subjects depending on feasibility instead of Islamic studies and Arabic.

The programmes for Arabic and Islamic Studies are also based on stages up to Key Stage 3. The aim is to work towards the following:

  1. IGCSE or GCSE Arabic at Key Stage 4
  2. Arabic will also be an option for students in Key Stage 5
  3. IGCSE or GCSE Religious Studies: Islam

The stages of Arabic leading up to Key Stage 4 will focus on the following areas:

  1. Reading
  2. Writing
  3. Grammar
  4. Listening
  5. Speaking

The subjects covered in Islamic studies which will also advance in stages will be as follows:

  1. Aqeedah (Islamic Belief)
  2. Islamic Fiqh (Jurisprudence)
  3. Taareekh (History)
    1. Creation
    2. Stories of Prophets
    3. Islamic History (Abu Bakr (RA) to present day)
    4. Seerah (Life of the Prophet (PBUH))
    5. Judgement Day: Signs, reckoning, paradise and hellfire
  4. Beginner’s Tafseer (Explanation of the Quran)
